The Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) has been introduced in Australia and New Zealand to achieve uniform identification of electrical products. This mark is a trademark owned by regulatory authorities in Australia and New Zealand, indicating that products comply with safety and EMC requirements at the same time. It is non-mandatory. After the product is certified for safety and registered for EMC, an application can be made to use the RCM mark through the regulator that issues the safety certification or through "RCM Registrar" (Standards Australia).

RCM certification must include:

2.    EMC test (EMC), that is, C-tick report

From March 1, 2013, the product must be registered and filed with EESS, Australia's national database, and the RCM logo must be printed before it can be sold on the market. SAA and C-Tick certifications will be phased out and replaced with RCM certifications, which cover safety and EMC (C-Tick may still work for some low-power wireless products).

From January 1, 2016, the three-year transition period will end and the RCM mark will be fully mandatory. Products that are not registered and bearing the RCM logo will not be allowed to be sold on the market.

Australia and New Zealand divide the risk degree of electrical products into three levels:

Level 1 Low-risk: DC power supply products (Apply for RCM certification by providing EMC reports)

Level 2 Medium risk: AC power supply products in general (provide EMC report + safety report to apply for RCM certification)

Level 3 High risk, a total of 56 products (provide EMC report + safety report +SAA certificate for RCM certification +EESS registration)
